Take a seat... and make it light!

NUGAE is at the Genoa International Boat Show, from 1 to 6 October 2026, at the Politecnico di Milano stand with the NEMO project. On show: the structural seat for an LP42 catamaran, 37 kg, 42 printing hours, 70% recycled material.

We are at the Genoa International Boat Show until 6 October, at the Politecnico di Milano stand with the NEMO, Design 4 Yacht Flexible Customization project. We brought one thing only, but you can sit on it.

The seat that weighs 37 kg

The piece on show is the interior concept with an integrated seat for an LP42 catamaran, the same one we presented at JEC World 2026 in Paris. It is one metre tall, measures 150 by 150 cm and has 3 mm walls.

Traditionally a structural deck element starts from a dedicated mould and many hours of hand lay-up. On a one-off catamaran that mould never pays for itself, and the weight stays on board for the life of the boat. Here the stiffness comes from the internal geometry, generated together with the part. The project sheet, printed as well, hangs on the seat itself.

From the boat to the home

Next to the catamaran seat stands DUKENA, our first furniture collection: one continuous profile that becomes base, seat and back, 8 kg, 6 printing hours, an internal structure generated by an algorithm. Same technology, same material, different scale.

Seen from the side you can read how it is made: one single continuous path that folds, and the internal rib structure left visible along the edge.

It is the most direct way we know to explain what we do: a structural boat element and a seat for the home come off the same machine, in the same material, with no moulds. Discover DUKENA ›

Come and find us

If you are at the show, come and see the piece up close: you can touch it, (almost) lift it and sit on it. If instead you have a large component that needs a mould today, get in touch.

Think big. Stay light.
